midi-Brass

I made this instrument because I wanted something more compact than my EW-Plus and something that fitted in with the “look” of brass instruments. It has:

  • The same internals as the EWI-Plus (processor, battery, display, etc)
  • A brass-looking exterior made from 3D-printed PLA Silk
  • A mouthpiece from an EWI (but with no “bite” control)
  • Side-by-side keys (like the NuRAD)
  • USB and BLE connectivity
  • 5-octave range

The octave keys (mushroom cap screws) are on the LH thumb, together with a “Program” button for changing synth presets. The RH thumb has the “pitchbend down”, “portamento” and “modulation” buttons, together with an earthing pad.

There is the on-off slider switch, the adjustment knob, and the multi-colour LED to indicate the status of the instrument.
